Hi Friends,
I'm excited to share this quick makeover with you today. You might recall seeing this rolling cart at my pop-up sale. This vintage, typewriter table began its life in this dreary brown color. But when I spied it, the table was pleading for a new outfit.
I removed the wheels first, which were in need of a quick clean. I simply mixed baking soda with a little water to create a paste. Then I spread that mixture on the rusted metal and let that sit before scrubbing them. And voila! The wheels were clean (FYI, that photo of the wheels is before they were cleaned). Then I removed the top of the table and spray painted it with a white primer.
When I first saw this table, I imagined a simple color makeover. Blush pink and gold is a color combo that is sweeping the nation. And despite my inclination to avoid things that everyone likes, I'm loving these colors too. I spray painted the table legs with Rust-oleum's Metallic and used Behr's Youth Blush(semi-gloss) to paint the tabletop. The pink is so soft it almost feels like a neutral and the gold gives the contrasting element of a metallic. What a pretty pairing!
I decided to style the table as a bar cart, but what I love about this type of furniture is how flexible it is; the table leaves instantly double the work surface and you could use it as a little computer desk, a side table or a kitchen cart... so many possibilities!
So, what would you use this piece of furniture for? Are you also crushing on pink and gold?
